It's been a while!
Has been busy with work but it's time for new kniting projects again, finally!
This time, I have decided to knit myself some winter gloves
which I will be using for my Japan trip in May 2018!
I've been to Korea during winter back in 2016
and I found out the coldest part of my body is actually..
My small hands!
They get FREEZING cold pretty fast
The yarn I used is a combination of Merino, cashmere and silk
And the tutorial for the gloves pattern is from here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6ODA0nfIIE#t=17m18s
I just used the tutorial as a guideline
And edited a lot of the rows to match my small AND different sized left-right hand
I also added an additional layer of ribbing for the cuffs for warmth
(I refuse to make double layer of the whole glove because then it becomes too bulky)
So here it is!
Top of hand
Palm of hand
Next project, my winter scarf!
Will probably have to find some time to do it before my May trip though..
But I will most likely need to make one as my nose is VERY sensitive
So I tend to get bad flu during cold winter temperatures
Last one Vaporeon is here~
It turned out surprisingly successful and CUTE :P

https://shedko247.wordpress.com/2011/12/31/vaporeon/
initially when I followed the pattern, I was going to change the pattern a little
(because it didn't really fit good)
but anyway I figured it and got it to work
so I just followed the pattern all the way~
Here we go~
(It's really not black, it's dark blue :P)
Anyway I love this vaporeon~
idk how but after I finished felting the eyes and I looked at it and I go
"AWW IT'S SO CUTE"
ANYWAY!
I'm done with them all eeveelution! :D
But I'll be redo-ing Espeon as I said before
and also some touch ups on some eyes of the previous ones
I'll post the full eeveelution photo when I'm done ^-^
(And I still don't know if I'll want to redo eevee too...)
So after I received my new set of blue yarns
The blues were still a little off from the blue that I wanted for Glaceon
But I made do with it anyway
Took me a while because I was procastinating :P
Credits go to (as usual)
https://chainoneandturn.wordpress.com/tag/eeveelution/
http://www.wolfdreameroth.com/
I did change a few patterns here and there from the original as usual
Here we go~
As you can probably see
The diamonds part weren't done that well
I already changed the patterns a little but it still didn't turn out the best I wanted it to be
But I was lazy to continue figuring a pattern so there we go
(Because I spent quite some time editing the pattern for the tail..)
Still acceptable though, of course
And now we have one last vaporeon to do
and not to forget, redoing espeon too (which will be superb fast anyway)
after quite a long break..
I finally got Sylveon done!
Took me a while since I had to order the new batch of colours for the yarns
and the new colours for blues and pink turned out nice
shouldn't be a problem for glaceon and vaporeon later on
and the purple i ordered is perfect for remaking espeon too :D
anyway this sylveon is SO cute :P
of course i'm satisfied~
pattern credits goes to
(as usual)

and
http://robezpierre.deviantart.com/art/Sylveon-Crochet-445950843
and
https://chainoneandturn.wordpress.com/2012/02/18/leafeon-pattern/
this sylveon isn't tough or anything
its pretty fun with the ribbons and all
I had wanted a stuffed bow but anyway i was lazy to search for something closer to what i wanted so i just followed the pattern (flat bow)
Overall i'd say it takes about 3-4 days to complete this cutie!
Here's the pictures!
ISN'T SHE PRETTY AND CUTE
I looked at my collection up till now and well I still think the rest could have bigger eyes
so maybe i'll edit that when i'm done with everyone~
Next up will be glaceon~
then vaporeon~
then remaking espeon~
hopefully things goes well and it'll be a complete set good for pictures!
(on the side note, idk about flareon and her fur. i'm having second thoughts, but anyway, we'll see~)
So finally I decided to finish up Flareon as well
It turned out better than what I expected (which to be honest, i expected it to turn out pretty bad)
But it was all right
Could have been even better but it's not disappointing so that's fine!
pattern credits to https://chainoneandturn.wordpress.com/tag/eeveelution/
and
http://wolfdreamer-oth.blogspot.sg/2010/08/umbreon-plushie.html
I changed a little of the head fluff pattern
and i didn't use the collar pattern
instead I took the collar pattern from eevee and just improvised from it
it could have taken a lot quicker to make flareon if i didn't procastinate and all
i'd say a good 2-3days is enough because the body is easy (same as umbreon)
and the tail and collar I managed to finish them in a day too
anyway here it is!
Anyway when I was keeping this cutie together with the rest
It does seem like eevee's collar actually looked okay
maybe i expected too much when i did it so i ended up a little upset
but anyway i'd still be redoing eevee
that huge size just doesn't fit the rest... :P
So now, i'm just gonna take a break while ordering my new shipment for another different set of colour yarns
mainly the blue shades for vaporean/glaceon/sylveon
purple for redoing espeon
some tan for redoing eevee
and maybe some yellow for making some mini jirachi's~!
Okay so I admit I procrastinated QUITE long hahahha
so it seemed like I spent 1-2 weeks on Eevee
but on fact if you really calculate it I'll say it took a good 3-4days
credits on pattern to
http://wolfdreamer-oth.blogspot.sg/2010/02/eevee-plush.html
and as previously I mentioned i was gonna experiment on the furs part of eevee/flareon
and well, I tried out the Loop stitch on this eevee
honestly speaking, it wasn't bad
but because the pattern was originally flat
it turned out too fluffy
and I thought it could have sort of fit flareon a lot better
maybe i should have stick to the flat pattern
All in all conclusion is
i am NOT satisfied with this eevee ><
maybe because Eevee is my little favourite so I wanted it the best but it didn't turn out up to my expectation
maybe I'll edit another one after i finish the whole eeveelution
Anyway here it is~
I added the little furs on the face
it's the same ones i used for Jolteon's face
Also, comparing this eevee to the rest of my eeveelutions
the proportions.. isn't right there
well apparently eevee looks bigger than the rest, which theoretically it should be the opposite lol
so yea, i'll need some work when i redo this
surprisingly when i review the amigurumi pokemon i've done up till now
I'm really satisfied with leafeon
jirachi is still my best, just tiny bit away from perfect because of the body/legs
and umbreon was easy so lets not compare that
but leafeon i thought was done really good!
jolteon wasn't bad too but leafeon just looks better
anyway
next up should be flareon
i'll probably take my time again since i have some work on hands right now
So I decided on Leafeon next
And it turned out well!
Pattern credits to

Body+Head credits as always to
http://wolfdreamer-oth.blogspot.sg/2010/08/umbreon-plushie.html
I have to say BIG THANKS to the pattern maker for leafeon because it was pretty fun ^0^
and it reminded me about other crochet stitches such as double/triple crochets
(because the last few times I crochet I have been doing amigurumis and its mostly just.. sc :P)
Didn't have much problem with the pattern
Just a couple of calculation was wrong
And I edited the back legs a little shorter, and also edited the tail a little wider at the top
(And not to forget my inner ears which I always crochet instead of cutting ready-made felt)
Rest of the pattern was good :D
Took me around 3days to complete I'd say
Here's the cutie!
I'm pretty satisfied with leafeon!
and to be honest I was quite surprised when it started looking good
Honestly out of the eeveelutions I never really liked leafeon
Maybe because leafeon was released together with glaceon
and I really love glaceon :P
But while making this leafeon, I started liking this cutie quite a lot!
Maybe because the anime didn't really focus/emphasize leafeon so it looked as if leafeon isn't much impressive
but while making this, I realise leafeon really do have its own charms
I never thought of leafeon like this, but now
She really looks like a little forest elf to me :D
so anyway! Next up
I don't know.
Definitely not the blue ones (Vaporeon/Glaceon) because I'm re-ordering the blues
I thought about sylveon but I thought of getting the new blues first before deciding which blue I wanna use for her
And we're left with eevee and flareon which I still haven't thought about the best way to settle the furs because I really love them fluffy looks and I don't want to just make them...FLAT in the end
Probably I'll take a break while ordering the blues + deciding the furs~
Pattern credits to

and once again body+head+legs are from wolfdreamer~
http://wolfdreamer-oth.blogspot.sg/2010/08/umbreon-plushie.html
Initially I wanted to do Vaporeon first after the sun+moon couple (AKA Umbreon+Espeon)
and planned to do the first 3 eeveelutions (Jolteon+Vaporeon+Flareon)
But plans are meant to be changed :p
The blues that I got aren't really close to the right blue I wanted
So I'm thinking I would probably buy a few other blue shades along with my espeon purple the next time
and for now, lets just do the rest first
So I decided on jolteon, because I specially got a different yellow for it compared to the one I used for jirachi and umbreon rings
Its a little darker, probably darker than the yellow I see from pictures online
But I was pretty sure it would work out great because this yellow is just like thunder yellow
Just a tint of orange shade, but not too dark, not too bright of a yellow either
Anyway!
Though I credited the pattern but to be honest I basically only followed her ear and collar pattern
(not to forget body+head+legs are ofc, still from wolfdreamer)
I made my own patterns for the spikes because the ones from the link is all magic rings and rather thick
As I don't use ready-made felt pieces, I made my own black inner ear too
This is a lesson learnt from my Espeon..
Never do wool felting on a big area such as the inner ear lol
And so this one took longer than my umbreon/espeon
technically it's double the time
Took this one 4days
But also because I was kinda relaxed doing it because I had to plan the spikes too so I kinda slowed down my speed too......
..So maybe you wanna say it's 3days! :P
Alright here we go
Pretty much satisfied with this little one ^0^
The spikes turned out great too~ (Just lotsa weaving ends to do)
And kinda heavy too..
And this one almost, ALMOST used up my yarn ball (and mind you, it's a new ball..!)
But anyway enjoyed making this~
Next is probably flareon
But I've been hesitating on both eevee and flareon because of their fluffy parts
Someone on the net did them like fur but I still can't decide if I want it that way or make it a fixed shape sooooooooooooooo...
I dont know, maybe I'll end up doing someone else first instead while I think xD
Before I start showing the pictures
There's this thing about my Espeon..
I wouldn't say I did a bad job
Because it really DOES KINDA look good
The only issue is
The colour is off...
You see
Because I ordered all my yarns together, after planning my whole eeveelution colours
And bought from TaoBao
(It's real cheap too! ^^)
The colour that I ordered for this espeon was supposedly purplish pink (more purplish on the picture though)
But when it came, it's more... PINK than purple
I mean, it doesn't matter if your colour is a bit darker or brighter than the original colour (of the Pokemon you're making)
But you see..
When the colour tone itself is kinda TOO different
This happened to my Espeon...
It's really not considered BAD..
If only it was the right colour
Or at least PURPLE
Would have been much better
But anyway pattern credits to!
https://shedko247.wordpress.com/2010/08/17/espeon/
I edited the pattern a bit too
for the ears and whiskers, just a little tweak in the ch count
Days taken to make: 2!
Same as Umbreon
Did my best to make it look more alike to Espeon but this is what I can do for now
I'll probably get another purple the next time I order and remake one more Espeon~
PS.
I dont know if it's just me
but don't this espeon look like a fox/cat? :p
Following my first Pokemon amirugumi (Jirachi)
Next I'm gonna embark on the mission to complete the whole Eeveelution!
(Again, another of my personal favourite little cutie EEVEE!!)
Jirachi may be my favourite among legendaries
but among the rest of the hundreds of Pokemon..
It's definitely Eevee! ^0^
And of course, the WHOLE eeveelution line~
I intended to make Eevee first..
But I'm not really confident with the pattern that I found on the net
So I decided to do another eeveelution first which had a lovely pattern ready.... Umbreon!
So it's fairly easy
And fairly fast too! Compared to Jirachi
But because I just had my day surgery done for my ear infection
I kinda had the whole day to myself when I started to do the eeveelution so..
Of course compared to Jirachi it would be faster in that sense :p
So it's been a while since I touched my knitting needles and crochet hooks..
And when I saw some really cute Pokemon Amigurumi online
I got the inspiration to do them too!
SO!
I decided to start my own Pokemon collection!
Not really a collection because I doubt I'll do a lot of different Pokemon
I'm just gonna pick the ones I like and do them :D
First up is....... Jirachi!
If you haven't known this cutie
Jirachi is a Wish pokemon, meaning she/he (i dont know.. hahah) can make wishes come true!
Shaped like a star, its also one of the few cute ones in the legendary Pokemon list
Personally my favourite legendary (alongside celebi)
But of course Jirachi's first still
why?
because she's a cute little star darling ^0^
I searched a bit for a few patterns around the net for Jirachi
(since I'm not good enough to be making my own patterns yet)
and I took reference from here
http://danniek118.blogspot.sg/2014/11/jirachi_24.html
I did change the pattern a little
Including shortening the body to make it more proportional
and also editing the arms because the method/pattern given was a little bulky after I tested one arm
Took me around a week or less (I took only a few hours every night to do a portion)
And here's the cutie!
Isn't she lovely~ =^0^=
Could have been better still if i remade the body to be rounder and legs a little shorter
But I didn't redo it anyway
Plus I like it this way too!
Amigurumi are small little stuffed toys made from crochet. I started crocheting one as a gift for my internship company (the bunny), and then another one, also as a gift, for my lecturer (the cat).
I started to learn about amigurumi because I had always loved knitting and crocheting, and the idea of making something out from "nothing"/ basics (eg fabric, yarns) into something usable (eg garments, accessories, amigurumi!). Knitting/crocheting just common items like scarves/hats were not really what I want to do for a gift, that is also why I decided to make amigurumi instead!
It requires patience, concentration, and lotsa love!
Its a fun experience and of course I will continue making more amigurumi in the future as a hobby!
For our Final Year Project (FYP) 2014/15, we need to produce a set 5 garments from each designer under a brand, together with the Visual Merchandiser. In my group consist of visual merchandiser YiEr, and 2 designers Felicia and I.

The 4th Dimension
A collection magnifying the value of time in the faraway space, right in the center of any blackhole.
Diving into these dense objects in space, matter revolving the blackhole all face the
effect of slowed and eventually frozen, time.
Everything stops.
The 4th dimension,

- FYP period lasted from October 2014 till April 2015. Before FYP period was our internship, but I had started the conceptualization of my collection since internship period and had gone back school for several consultations as well for advice and further improvements.
For the whole 6months, from building a brand, to conceptualization of design concept, to production and finally execution, it has both been tiring yet fruitful. We had learnt a lot of things about starting a brand; how to survive in the industry as a new start-up brand; how to sell your collection by making it attractive to customers, etc.
I had to admit, this whole process was very tiring for me as a student and fashion designer in the making, both physically and mentally. there were a lot of struggles to cope with the very tight deadlines, especially when my collection requires a lot of time and patience with draping and beadwork.

Design show / Runway
The group members of SOL!

Me and my 4 lovely models for the show!
From left: Rebecca, Bella, ME, Stacey, Ying

Finally it was the big day: the runway show day! It wasn't entirely perfect though, from what I wanted, but I believe it is still the best I could do. Initially I had wanted to produce hair accessories to match the garments but because the makeup&hair are done in groups of 6students, we had to come to a common makeup&hair for everybody, which concluded to be the clean ponytail. Thus, because of the nature of the hairstyle, I decided to just make it clean and not add on unnecessary head gears.
Overall the runway show was a very special experience as it was our very first runway show with our own garments. However, I do have one regret which was about my final garment. Right before the show started my model had told me the thigh area was a little tight and might be uncomfortable to walk in. Hence, upon cutting a slit on the spot right before the show for better movement for her, I had been worrying about having the cut being seen on the runway till I had forgotten to check the train of the same garment before the show.
It was only until my model went out to the stage and I had seen from the TV (which was filming the show at the front) that a portion on the right of the train had broke off. It had been fine during the afternoon rehearsal so most likely it happened right before the show. It was saddening to see as I had spent some time trying to perfect the design of the train. However, since mistakes like this can't be undone now that the show is over, I guess I would take this as a lesson learnt for the future shows I may have.
I would like to thank the producers, crews of the show, makeup & hair stylists, and of course the 4 lovely models for the beautiful show. The show wouldn't have been possible if not for all of you!

Apologies for the bad lighting!

Last but not least! I would like to give a BIG THANKS to all our awesome lecturers who guided us for the whole 3years in Temasek Polytechnic Design School! Thank you for going through the tough 3years with us; or rather being with us and guiding us through every step we take.
Special thanks to Jay Quek for teaching us sewing foundations! He has been a GREAT help in building my sewing foundation and although he left the school during our second year, I am still sooooo grateful to him for the short 1year+ with us! Another BIG special thanks to KyungMi!! Our lecturer for the whole of FYP. She had been a really really biggggg help in making my collection possible. Thank you for all the time and dedication to helping and guiding us. And I'm sorry if there were times we bothered you too much.. But you still gave your all to help us! I don't know how to thank you enough XOXO SARANGHAE!

Vertigo Lapse
The 2nd photoshoot for The 4th Dimension is up!
Vertigo Lapse
is a photoshoot with the concept inspired from light trails,
relating to the original concept of time in the collection.
Capturing the light movements in a single picture
This is exactly the same idea of The 4th Dimension,
capturing the frozen state of the dramatic blackhole movements!

BIG thanks to awesome Photographer Richard and team for making it possible <3
Only with your great skills and experience that made this photoshoot so perfect!
the only model who could fit my gowns so perfectly <3

It was a great experience shooting with Richard! I learnt a lot and experienced a lot with his guidance during the shoot. Althought the shooting hours were really long (we ended at midnight), but it was worth it!
