Winter gloves!

It's been a while!
Has been busy with work but it's time for new kniting projects again, finally!

This time, I have decided to knit myself some winter gloves
which I will be using for my Japan trip in May 2018!

I've been to Korea during winter back in 2016
and I found out the coldest part of my body is actually..
My small hands!
They get FREEZING cold pretty fast

The yarn I used is a combination of Merino, cashmere and silk

I just used the tutorial as a guideline
And edited a lot of the rows to match my small AND different sized left-right hand
I also added an additional layer of ribbing for the cuffs for warmth
(I refuse to make double layer of the whole glove because then it becomes too bulky)

Next project, my winter scarf!

Will probably have to find some time to do it before my May trip though..

But I will most likely need to make one as my nose is VERY sensitive

So I tend to get bad flu during cold winter temperatures

Painting Poster+Acrylic

Today we are trying out a mixture of Poster paint background
MIXED with Acrylic paint effect (for the sakura flowers)

Crying Wolf over the Moon

The wolf howled sadly at the moon
Crying streams of lonely, empty tears
The moon swirled and shined
Becoming it's only source of hope

I was never good in water colour
but this time I tried to use poster paint to look like water colour effect on the moon
It turned out quite well! :P

Amigurumi are small little stuffed toys made from crochet. I started crocheting one as a gift for my internship company (the bunny), and then another one, also as a gift, for my lecturer (the cat).

I started to learn about amigurumi because I had always loved knitting and crocheting, and the idea of making something out from "nothing"/ basics (eg fabric, yarns) into something usable (eg garments, accessories, amigurumi!). Knitting/crocheting just common items like scarves/hats were not really what I want to do for a gift, that is also why I decided to make amigurumi instead!

It requires patience, concentration, and lotsa love!

 Its a fun experience and of course I will continue making more amigurumi in the future as a hobby!

Crochet Baby Dress

This was done during my holidays where I came upon this tutorial teaching how to crochet a baby dress. This was the result after I tried crocheting it. 2 buttons were placed front (decorative) and back (fastening). The embellishment around the waist are acrylic cords with pretzel knots.

We learnt to knit during a subject and required to create accessories of our choice. A large number of the class kniited scarves because it was the most basic, but I wanted to do something more challenging. After looking through several tutorials on the net, I decided to just combine simple knit and purl patterns (ribbing too), and created a attachable collar and a hat as shown above. However due to time constrain, the hat became too short (its supposed to be a beanie length).

After we were given back our works, I wanted to make the hat to something useful, so I played around with it. At first I insisted to make it a hat, and placed a drawstring on it. It didn't turn out good as a hat, but when I turned it over, it became a pouch! At that time, I had a rendering subject on hand, so I needed something to store my copic markers, and this became the great solution to it as well.
